Full-fat alt-rock from Pickering, North Yorkshire.
HUNTER-GATHERER’s sound is heavily influenced by the frequencies of '90s and ‘00s alternative rock.
Influences include Nirvana, Soundgarden and Rage Against The Machine.
However, the band’s feet are firmly placed in the 21st century; the group draw much of their inspiration from new acts such as Issues and IDLES.
Both the band’s early self-recorded material and their latest releases from Young Thugs studios have been championed by northern press and radio, including BBC Radio Introducing York and North Yorkshire.
In 2019, Jericho Keys of BBC Introducing declared their single Head Down as: ‘yet another blinder of a single from HUNTER-GATHERER. What a way to end the show!’.
In March 2020, HUNTER-GATHERER released their most successful single to date, Killjoy. Described by RGM Press as ‘a hit tailored for fans of Soundgarden and Red Hot Chili Peppers', the single would later be chosen by Sound of Scarborough as the opening track of their second collaborative vinyl.
Following a successful crowdfunding campaign in October, the band are busy crafting their debut EP, ‘Out of the Woods', due for release in spring 2021.

"Pickering in North Yorkshire has produced top cricketers and even a top snooker player. But now Pickering can lay claim to producing an incredible rock band, Hunter-Gatherer. The boys are back with another cracking single. Full of gargantuan riffs and fine metal melodies. This lot are still on my list to see live post-COVID-19."
"(Head Down) Yet another blinder of a single from HUNTER-GATHERER. What a way to end the show!"
Jericho Keys, BBC Introducing York & North Yorkshire
"Hunter-Gatherer give a fantastic performance with their gripping alt-Rock music. Plenty of artistry and musicianship on show as you can feel the music blasting through the speakers. Loud enough to be heard right across the North Yorkshire Moors into the city they play next." Sam Lowe, Number 9
"We're hoping that Hunter-Gatherer comes out with more of their exclusive sound, but for now, we're perfectly content with having "Run My Mind" on repeat!" Buzz Music
" ‘Run My Mind’ is a great example of what rock music can be when you are passionate about music. It doesn’t need to be fancy just full-on and leave nothing to waste. The future looks good for Hunter-Gatherer as they build on their previous releases of ‘Move’ and ‘Pedestal’ they are quickly creating a great catalogue of songs." Sol Campbell - RGM
"With every release Hunter-Gatherer impress me more and more, this release doesn’t disappoint, it’s a huge step up. Get to it right now."
Frank Roper - Local Sound Focus
