Short Bio:

Full-fat alt-rock from Pickering, North Yorkshire.

A three-piece band that blend the frequencies of 1990s Seattle rock with the energy and intensity of modern acts such as Kendrick Lamar.

Brace yourselves, HUNTER-GATHERER will carve out their name on your wall and leave you wanting more.

Bio continued:

The band’s influences range from Soundgarden and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers to Kendrick Lamar and Anderson Paak. With their single 'Head Down' prompting the co-sign of Jericho Keys of BBC Radio York and North Yorkshire, the band continues to build momentum after a string of successful singles in 2019. "Yet another blinder of a single from HUNTER-GATHERER. What a way to end the show!" - Jericho Keys.

Each song has its own spirit that is let to evolve. The HUNTER-GATHERER sound is a mixture of power, funk, and catchy melodies. Everyone brings something unique to the table, with each member equally sharing the songwriting process and bringing forward their sound to the table. Bron's intricate yet forceful rock beats, Sam's ripping yet melodic riffs and Kris' funk-rock low-end, coupled with strong vocal lines, harmonies and anthemic choruses to ice it all off. HUNTER-GATHERER bring it completely.

HUNTER-GATHERER have just released their latest single 'Killjoy' which is a song about the people who are trying to get you down constantly, and the times where you can't take it anymore. 'The world is still spinning, I'll fill my world with joy' shows a willingness to move on from the past and embrace the here and now. Big melodic chords with a soulful chorus, Bron's energetic drumming fills in for the spacious bass and guitar, wherever there's space to add a fill - there will be one. I'd say maybe a little Hawkins-esque playing on this one. Kris is showing his inner Jack Bruce with his bass runs on this track.

See you at the next gig, it's going to get freaky!

‘Sam Womack’s mighty riffs and almost yearning vocals are prominent but underpinned by a finely tuned Maserati of a rhythm section with Kristian Ward’s sonic boom bass playing and Bron Bury smacking his drums until they are in need of life support!’

"(Head Down) Yet another blinder of a single from HUNTER-GATHERER. What a way to end the show!"

Jericho Keys, BBC Introducing York & North Yorkshire

"Hunter-Gatherer give a fantastic performance with their gripping alt-Rock music. Plenty of artistry and musicianship on show as you can feel the music blasting through the speakers. Loud enough to be heard right across the North Yorkshire Moors into the city they play next." Sam Lowe, Number 9

"We're hoping that Hunter-Gatherer comes out with more of their exclusive sound, but for now, we're perfectly content with having "Run My Mind" on repeat!" Buzz Music

" ‘Run My Mind’ is a great example of what rock music can be when you are passionate about music. It doesn’t need to be fancy just full-on and leave nothing to waste. The future looks good for Hunter-Gatherer as they build on their previous releases of ‘Move’ and ‘Pedestal’ they are quickly creating a great catalogue of songs."  Sol Campbell - RGM

"It’s a full-on raucous thing this release from Hunter-Gatherer. It pulls no punches in the slightest. Right from the raw guitar intro, you know what you’re in for, loud dirty guitar, and boy do you get that. "
Frank Roper - Local Sound Focus

"Amazing band. Amazing songs. Amazing musicians.
Saw them in Leeds tonight - fantastic gig. They went down a storm" - Lilj Thorn

"These tunes stuck in my head!!! Amazingly catchy tunes and fine musicians! BRING ME MORE!" - Scott Wardell

"Fantastic gig last night guys. For a three-piece, you sure make one hell of a noise! Hopefully, it won't be too long till I see you guys play again. All the best" - Mike Thorp

"I've seen Hunter-Gatherer many times, Fulford Arms in York, Staxtonbury Festival, The Lending Room in Leeds, the band is a solid rock/funk trio that never fails to deliver, if you haven't seen these guys then get to one of their gigs...Get Up, Get Out." - Simon Allan
